A Pearly Cock-eyed Squid (Histioteuthis meleagroteuthis) floating. It is pointing towards the right. Its arms are curved but are general raised up. It has off white flesh with a slight pinkish tinge. The underside of its arms are more orangish red, and it is covered in dark red chromatophores. Its arms, head and mantle are covered in a dense pattern of photophores (light emitting organs) that sort of look like strawberry seeds (although it is not its close relative, the strawberry squid (Histioteuthis heteropsis)). It has two differently sized eyes, but you can only see the smaller eye that is pointing down. The background is blue.

A close up of a southern bobtail squid (Euprymna tasmanica). It has a fierce look in its eyes, and its arms are spread out, as if it is about to strike. Its flesh is a translucent blue, and it is cover in dark red, almost black chromatophores. On its mantle and around its eyes, is a yellow and green iridescence.

A slightly blurry photo of four Caribbean Reef Squid (Sepioteuthis sepioidea) swimming. The sea floor in the background is roughly on a 45 degree angle (goes from bottom left to top right) and is largely covered in algae. The squid have their arms together and they are all pointed towards roughly the same point. They are sort of pointed in a V shape, although they are pointing in a way that forms a v. They all have slightly different colouring and patterns, but they are pink, white and brown.

It's time for your regular reminder that flamboyant cuttlefish eggs (Ascarosepion pfefferi) look like toy capsules.
A cluster of Flamboyant Cuttlefish eggs (Ascarosepion pfefferi) in a coconut shell. The eggs are transparent and almost spherical. They sort of look like clear balloons. Inside several of them you can see the baby cuttlefish inside, developing. They are mostly white. There is also a translucent blob in the egg that appears to be attached to the fetuses. There is some sand on top of the eggs A close up of a Flamboyant Cuttlefish egg (Ascarosepion pfefferi). They are translucent spheres and the baby cuttlefish can be seen inside. Two more eggs are in the background, one of which has hatched. Several Flamboyant Cuttlefish eggs (Ascarosepion pfefferi). They are translucent spheres where you can easily see the baby cuttlefish inside. They resemble toy capsules. The cuttlefish have their iconic purple, magenta, yellow and white colouring. Six cuttlefish eggs are visible, with three being clearly visible and two half visible. One of the clearly visible eggs has a messed up exterior, so its hard to see inside. A Flamboyant Cuttlefish (Ascarosepion pfefferi) hatching from an egg. The egg is a bluish translucent sphere. It has some sort of hairy tendrils sticking out, but its unclear if that's part of the egg or some other organism. The cuttlefish is looks like a tiny adult Flamboyant Cuttlefish, with it being white, brown, yellow and magenta. It is squeezing out of the egg's membrane mantle first. It is pointing to the left, and we are seeing its bottom side. There are some other eggs in the background. The eggs and cuttlefish are being illuminated by a light, but it is otherwise dark around.
