7) This year I got myself two cool things that I wanna use a lot more in 2026: my plein air painting box/easel and my lino printing press. Though the printing press has had hefty use when I've taught classes 👀

6) another writing one! I want to read more outside my usual genres to broaden my horizons. Specifically thinking of more horror because I've noticed that a bit of horror tends to creep into my work 👀 On that note: I want to use my local library more.

5) I'd like to give a 100 hands and 100 feet drawing challenge a solid go because hands and feet are hard 🥺😂

4) Just do more art in general, honestly - even just little practice sketches that never see the light of day, so I can continue getting better at what I do.

3) Get properly back onto the commission and Patreon wagon. So much nonsense has happened this year to necessitate chasing stable work (I.e. overtime at the day job) that commissions and Patreon fell kinda by the wayside.

2) Start getting finished chapters of the novel that I feel very vulnerable about illustrated and up on Patreon! I've been shaping and re-shaping this book now for TWENTY GODDAMN YEARS and it's getting close to being ready 👀

I grew up, found friends and had adventures, but never really grew out of the love of creating characters and stories! Now most of my pals are fellow creatives who know where I'm coming from when I talk about channeling my experiences and feelings into my work, which is lovely.

Queues around the corner of the shopping centre, mountains of discarded clothes everywhere, hordes of people grabbing everything in sight. Only did it once as a Christmas temp and it's still seared into my memory as one of my worst experiences working retail

I mean maybe this year I was just really good at picking books that I knew I'd love, maybe next year I'll try shaking things up and see where things go. But yeah I just never understood the folks who treat tearing things apart as a competitive sport ig? Love and heart and craft is enough for me
