On the upside of badly executed high fantasy worldbuilding, I've learned a lot about what to do and what to avoid through WoW and most recently, Dragon Age.

Xass absolutely avoids the East when it gets chilly. She spends the winters in Stranglethorn, or literally any tropical environment.
