I saw this and thought it was wryly amusing. Didn't see it on X- I'm done with that platform permanently.

A tale of two batteries. 11 years apart. The new ones to the left weigh the same, have 1.66x the energy density per unit volume and 2.4x the energy density per unit mass, and cost 30% as much per kWh. And they're not done getting better.

Batteries arrived for the ER-6 replacement pack. The 11 yr old original cells will be going into a solar project to serve a low C rate retirement of likely another 10 years or so. Now the long process of capacity measurements before they go in the car!

Our old bumpersticker for our Model Y is starting to peel already, but the new one is sticking fast- and I think it makes the point even clearer. Elon can kiss my shiny metal ass!

US booze has been pulled from Ontario and Quebec shelves. US products are heavily discounted but not selling in our grocery stores. Canadians have two modes: "We're sorry", and "You're about to be sorry". Elbows up- this is going to get ugly until the Orange Turd is flushed from the Oval Toilet

Speaks for itself- when it can get a word in edgewise.

What do you think of my new trash artwork? Any guesses as to what it is?

I prefer this inadvertently funny version put out by NREL- all it's missing is the wire connecting the power plant to the DAC unit and it would be complete.

It never had a thing to do with Canadian border security.

I'm not an artist, but I modified this popular cartoon to make it more accurate. It would better if the Great Orange Turd were holding the MAGA supporter to ward off the backsplash- hopefully someone can do a nicer job of it and post it here!

Proof, despite recent events, that I haven't lost my marbles. I know exactly where they are- they're in a coffee can, mixed in with my ball bearings.

And I also know where my towel is.

How a graph can be accurate and yet tell a different story than it intends to. Chinese road fuels use has plateaued. Petrochemical use continues to grow- but is MUCH LOWER (the graph has different scales!). Chinese peak oil consumption is near, which is great news.

One of my favorite paintings by the brilliant Rene Magritte is "Castle of the Pyrenees". So many times, as an employee, I felt that my clients were asking me to build THIS castle. Fascinated to learn that it was commissioned to block a lawyer's view of an ugly building from his office.

Sometimes the horse you've been riding, isn't just tired- it's dead. As the Dakotas say, when you discover that, the best strategy is to dismount. And I add that if you're too caught up to notice that your horse is dead, the person who wakes you up to the fact is not your enemy.

I was an expert witness, supporting ACCR's case against gas company Santos, in relation to the feasibility of their claims around putting hydrogen into the natural gas network. Fascinating experience. Peer reviewed evidence here: scijournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...
