In my grumpy rant against these fruit smoothie "beers" I asked myself why this? Well it's got a sweet fruit aroma with a lovely balance of sweet, tart & sour with a beery finish. Very lambic!

It has a foamy head, gorgeous aroma...3 different hops - Cascade, chinook & Le Barbe Rouge (from Alsace) and no vegetables or fruit salad!🤣🤣🤣🤣 Brasserie de Ré #beer #bskybeer

This is an abomination bastard child of carrottes rapées & mandarin juice. What it's not is a beer. I cant finish it as I'm literally choking on the fruit and veg in my glass. Down the sink & need a beer to wash it away....AND it's too salty! #bskybeer #beer #ProvocativeOpinion

Britain arrest Churchill for war crimes in the Boer War. Oswald Mosely sweeps to victory in coalition with Neville Chamberlain. Widespread reports of "Flying Blue Police box" around London & bizarrely Sheffield.

I have "absolutely zero" expectations from the Newcastle V Man City game even if it is at home! I prefer my pessimism to be confounded rather than optimism disappointed. So many clear chances not taken so far.

IPA aged in 25yr old Armagnac casks. 8% ABV #BièresdeMontmorillon Malts Pilsen, Munich, wheat, & Caragold malts. Hops- Cascade, East Kent Goldings, & Strisselspalt.
Massive aroma of dried figs, dates, prunes, vanilla, nuts & spice.
Gorgeous rich Malt & barrel character.

I bought this Montlouis Triple Zéro in 2013 with my Mum. Accidentally kept for far too long, on opening it was very slightly petillant (age + bottled at 3 atmospheres). The 2-3 yrs on lees has given it a lovely rich caramel dryness like a vintage Veuve so different from when young. Gorgeous mistake

You ain't seen nothin' yet....Kathleen Turner Overdrive is a raspberry gose beer from the Pomona Island Brew Co. with a 5% ABV. Light bodied light carbonation & loads of tarty raspberry flavour!

The news cycle as ever forces me to have a beer....in this case from the brilliant Brasserie de Ré on the Ile de Ré which gave me the best beers of 2025. A pale ale with some gorgeous accents of verveine & camomile and pronounced peppery nose. Perfect dry bitter finish. Genius!

Brussels Beer Project is a fab little brewery in Brussels with a great taproom when you are sick of Abbey/Trappist beers. This is my go to Saison for that pepper and lemon hit!

Gorgeous soft juicy citrus pale ale (from #GlasshouseBeerCo) without that pithy bitterness that ruins so many beers. It slips down like a sumo wrestler on a water slide.

Mrs Bell asked for a Blackcurrant Cheesecake Gose- I brewed a Damson Gose without lactose or oats or indeed blackcurrants, just pale malt, wheat & some sea salt. Oh & the 2kg of damsons have added a nice tart sourness but not as much fruit as expected. She may have noticed the difference!

Raining and windy here in North East England so I cleared all the leaves from the garden and driveway after going to the Dentist....then I had my own Damson beer.

Yes I've decided to drink up some well aged beers...this will be soon!

Kept for years...oak cask fermented blueberry tripel from Mikkeller. The tart fruit has moderated and the funky lambic and woody notes bring a nice dry finish. More like wine than beer and so much more complex than several years ago. 9.5% abv

A Gose from the Ile de Ré where they make a famous sea salt....which of course you can taste in this beer. Great little brewery on a lovely Island! Recommended for seafood and beer lovers as there is another great brewery on the Island.

The cheaper cooler Hautes Côtes de Nuit hills above & to the west of the very expensive villages of #Burgundy are benefiting from climate change. Great quality to price ratio. These are the upper and lower plots by Domaine #Montmain where we had an entertaining multi-vintage tasting.

This is the most disgusting thing that I've ever put in my mouth! You're looking at #P&O Ferries loaded Nachos. The amorphous tasteless green goo is meant to be guacamole the nachos are soggy as the whole mess has been microwaved. Nothing tastes of anything. I paid £5.75 not to eat it.

So here's a thing I didn't know....french beer drinkers like glass bottles & are very sceptical about canned beer! Fatch brewery ONLY can their beer & they've had customers walk away as a result!
It's seen as a newfangled thing!
