A residential school survivor, her story of the orange shirt given by her grandmother, and taken away from her is the inspiration to Orange Shirt Day.

It was an honour to meet with Phyllis, Shannon Henderson and Sarah Philbrick, and to talk about the impact of their important work.

60s Scoop Legacy of Canada was founded in 2017 and does advocacy for survivors, and provides support & culturally appropriate healing. I appreciated being able to meet with Director Katherine Strongwind, Tamara Dannecker & Cindy Lacroix to talk about the work they're doing.

We reflected on Riel's remarkable life and the 140th anniversary of his death. He was a leader who strove to have Métis people recognized as equals, and his legacy is felt throughout Canada.
