The Sixties Scoop was the large-scale apprehension of Indigenous children from their families, to be adopted into non-Indigenous families across Canada and the United States. This went on from 1951 thru to 1991. This was done without the consent of the childrens' families.

These teachers are heroes. Thank you to the teachers of Acwsalcta School in Bella Coola. Their quick actions in the face of a grizzly bear attack saved a school group on Thursday. It could have been so much worse without their bravery.

Being able to meet face to face with Nations in territory is an important part of this role. Last week we had a great day of meetings with Nations—hearing their concerns and how we can continue to work together in the future.

This past weekend was the first BC Special Olympics since before COVID.

My aunt loved her time competing in the Special Olympics in Saskatchewan and I’m proud that our government - @davidebybc.bsky.social and @spencerch.bsky.social - were there for the opening ceremonies.
