Part of why the rich are really dumb and out of touch is because they deliberately fucked up public schooling in this country and made higher education out of reach for many amerikans so they dont even know how peasant like they made like, at least a third of the population (value neutral)

This is so common though! So many people just believe that Someone Will Sort It All Out and that there's ultimately a Boss Of Everything who sort of keeps things in line. They genuinely don't know that politics is real and not just a game they play.

A few months ago I encountered a person who said they voted for Trump because they knew the liberal Supreme Court would keep him in line. I asked him how the Supreme Court was liberal and he said "doesn't it have to be by law or something?"
