with Cold Steel it was specifically because it looks newer so they thought it would sell better

but yes i agree that i would've preferred playing in release order

also as of Reverie, basically all of Crossbell already has 3D models for that game's engine (which i think is their old one, admittedly), so remaking them wouldn't actually be as hard as Sky presumably was, assuming they can reuse the assets at all

it's because 3rd isn't as directly relevant as Zero, most of what comes up in it is mostly just setup for later stuff (it's all great, but the overarching plot doesn't really advance during it)

also for reference 3rd came out in eng in 2017 (Cold Steel was 2015, skipping over 3rd, Zero, and Azure)

they're apparently considering skipping 3rd to go straight to Zero so yeah 3rd might be a hot minute

playing the original version like a true gamer who doesn't want to wait on SC and 3rd...

the funniest thing about it is probably that the story contradicts almost every other metroid game at some point

like a single line early on makes either itself or the prime games not canon
