Always great to sit down with Candace Kelley of Comcast Newsmakers at the NJ League of Municipalities. We had a great conversation about the work we are doing in New Jersey to end food insecurity and improve the lives of the 9.5 million residents who call our state home!

Today we honor those who wore the uniform and the families who stood beside them. Across New Jersey and across the nation, we thank the veterans who have given so much in service to all of us.

From the State House to Congress, Bonnie Watson Coleman dedicated her career to opening doors for others and fighting for working families. New Jersey is losing a true leader who never wavered in her commitment to doing what is right—thank you for everything.

Today’s court rulings ordering the Trump Administration to provide funding for SNAP echoes what we have been saying in New Jersey all this time, that no one should ever have to wonder where their next meal will come from. We’ll keep fighting to make sure no one goes hungry.

On November 1st, more than 800,000 New Jerseyans will wake up without the SNAP benefits they depend on because of Washington’s failure to act. We cannot allow hunger to become a casualty of partisanship; it’s a moral crisis, and one that demands immediate action.

The decision to walk away from the Gateway Project is deeply alarming and reprehensible, putting our commuters, businesses and workers at risk. Infrastructure projects like this benefit all of us, and we cannot turn our back on that progress.

It’s Hunger Action Month, and I’ve been traveling the state meeting food bank staff and volunteers leading the fight against hunger. Because of their efforts, families find hope, children can focus on learning, and seniors get to live with dignity. My deepest thanks to you all.

Last year we visited REPLENISH to announce funding for a new walk-in fridge and freezer, and recently we had the honor of coming back to see it complete! That means more perishable foods kept fresh, more healthy meals on the table, and more families served!

Exciting to join leaders in New Brunswick this past week as we took the next step toward modernizing one of the busiest stations on the Northeast Corridor. A project that will benefit commuters, students, and families for years to come.

From across the river, New Jersey watched the tragedy of 9/11 unfold and shared in the weight of an immeasurable loss. We will always remember the lives taken too soon and the heroes who showed us the best of humanity.
