AOC: I want everybody to understand that the cuts to your health care are what’s paying for this. You get screwed over to pay a bunch of thugs in the street that are shooting mothers in the face.

anyway. no war. oppose this at every level, in every way, and do not get sucked into these false debates about process. after all, both american parties are currently pro-genocide. america's hegemon *has* to be dismantled if there is to be anything resembling peace in our or future times

Democrats would be crazy not to make this comment super-famous tomorrow when the Senate debates health care. Republicans don’t want you to be cared for as a patient when you’re sick. They think of you as a “consumer”—and tough luck if you don’t have the money for the care you need.
Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."

After the $100M privatization boondoggle...

"...AHS took over provincial laboratory testing and returned Alberta to a fully public model. By December, 2023, patient waiting times were reduced by 76%."

The same day as this report is released, UCP announced more privatization.

authors you have the chance to do the funniest thing right now
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.

worth repeating
Fundamental to Twain’s understanding of democracy is that nobody wants to hold high office except thieves, swindlers, & autocrats, & the way elections minimize the corrupt exercise of government is not by empowering noble men, but by making the crooks compete with one another in perpetuity.

Replacing waking up with NYT games with adjusting the volume on the old clock radio.

Chucklefuckery to put the volume and (incredibly finicky) tuning dial next to one another.
