With all the new faces here, I figured I'd also say hi and reintroduce myself. I am a professor of physics, astronomy and earth science, among other things, but most of what you'll get from me are photos of our immensely beautiful planet. Sharing that beauty is my passion; we're so lucky to be here.

we have a president who only does good things when everyone calls him a pedophile. our mission for the next 3 years is clear.

A little aurora & Milky Way combo from last night. Not too shabby for far southern Oklahoma, eh? #photography

The Milky Way over aurora over far southern Oklahoma 0n 11/11. #photography

Y'all this is the best. I'm in rural Oklahoma and there's people stopped on a lot of the exit ramps along the highway watching the aurora. Many have likely never seen it before. One old southern dude stopped beside me asking if I see the "big orange lights" too. We're all just little curious humans.

This is currently from my apartment, looking toward the city, in far SOUTHERN OKLAHOMA. Entire sky is full of color with this sub storm.

Nights like this are the best. All the trouble of the world is momentarily set aside while we're collectively marveling at the pretty lights and nature together. This is how it's supposed to be. Life, I mean. Shared joy and all. 🙂

Absolutely wild naked eye visible pillars all the way down here on the Oklahoma/Texas border. Cell phone shot here. #aurora

"I build many ballrooms...and that's my greatest strength, actually."

The US President's greatest strength is... having someone else make ballrooms for him. Incredible, sir, just what we needed.
INGRAHAM: Where did you get the stone?

TRUMP: Different places

I am actually going to scream. Dems just swept the Tuesday elections. Trump was boo'd for two straight minutes at the Commanders game. They were considering torching the fillibuster. Polls were consistently showing more people blamed Rs for the shutdown.
Sen. Angus King on why Democrats caved: "It wasn't working."
November 10, 2025 at 3:21 AM
I've defended establishment democrats a lot, as a lot of what they do has some justification, but this is my own breaking point. There is literally no good reason to cave now after holding on for so long. Either cave right away so people don't suffer for no reason, or ACTUALLY hold the damn line.
Glad we've taught the Trump administration that starving 42 million people and disrupting air travel is how they get whatever they want, though. Good precedent with 3 years left in this nightmare.

Peak fall foliage in Oklahoma's Ouachita mountains. Yes, this is Oklahoma! #photography

What is already one of the most beautiful parts of the state absolutely comes alive in the fall. I've been wanting this shot for years, but I either couldn't get there during peak or there were active droughts.
