This seems like a case in point about how unevenly the press treats racism.
They used spurious racism accusations to destroy Jeremy Corbyn. Farage is on the other hand, despite his racism having been clear and obvious for ages is only now getting a little scrutiny.

Who is this for exactly? If I was a Democrat I'd focus on the second half, the shitty stuff Trump is doing now, I think I'd avoid talking about Biden's awful record on Gaza.

I just find it shocking how wrong and what ignorant he is here. Has he missed the last 17 years of discourse?

Feel there's definitely something in the whole "politics as a calling" vs "politics as a job" and how we need to work to refuce the latter type of person.

When I read stuff like this I often think "How much do I pay in taxes, and how much do I pay in housings costs bills etc" it's private sector rent seekers who need to trim the fat here.

There's virtually no difference between the different regions here, it's also stuff like "Announced that over 1,000 more GPs will be recruited" which is a long way from"recruited" or even"funded"

It's amazing that we refer to a period in which ordinary people did incredibly well as "financial repression"

This seems like the classic "voters like the idea in abstract but hate it once they discover how it affects them and people they know" error that gets made so often by politicians.

When I think about New Labour, I often think about the case of Saptal Ram and how the then Home Secretary Jack Straw intervened to prevent his release.

Well yes, if the ultimate owners (and therefore beneficiaries) of these projects are European energy companies and not the people in the countries hosting the solar farms, then that is a problem.

I don't like "populist right" Worrying trends here, but:
- Please can we just say "fascist"
- I hate the pejorative use of the term "Populism", our elites are corrupt just not for the reasons the fascists say
- Why is the age based trend so different between US/UK and the EU?

Had quite a nice Christmas, lots of people round on Christmas day, was doing most of the cooking, messed some stuff up but held it together.
Boxing day was nice, now just enjoying a Lebkuchen though these Lidl ones just aren't as nice as the Aldi ones.
