Quick morning spaceship before I start work.
Meet the Rumble-β. I just felt like drawing something inspired by Twin Bee, Robbit, and Opa-Opa. I miss those cute little spaceship games.

Maybe I should build one in 3D for something different to do?

Cleaning out the back room and went to throw out a box of old install CDs from the 90s. Then I found this little bugger in the rubbish. I knew there was one in the room because I saw it a few weeks ago.

It has been relocated.

Hidden for spider.

Found an old Edge coverdic from 1997 and found this beauty on it. A Japanese ad for Ace Combat 2.

There's a bunch of other PS1 era previews on there in glorious 240P.

I just realized that this month marks 25 years since I first designed TY. I don't know where that time went, but here's to the little orange rat.

I was thinking back to that time when my dad decided to feed the local magpies and things went Hitchcockian pretty quickly. Luckily, they're actually pretty friendly most of the time, but still, this is a lot of murderbirds in one spot.

Going through and editing the menus in Photoshop to remove anything genAI. I know they're aiming to get peeps hooked on them so they can charge for AI credits on top of the subscription.

Also, fuck AI.

Watched a bit of the new Star Wars: Visions and wasn't hooked. So here's my Vision - Captain Kazan of the RS Revenge. You might know him better as the narrator of "The Faithful Wookiee" from the Holiday Special. Here he is with his droid sidekick RA-8D6.

Not doing cons anymore these days due to health but when I did back in the day, I went all out. Here's a trailer I did in the style of the "In Search of..." intro. I put a lot of effort into matching the original even filing my own dry ice for the mist.

Speaking of old ideas that went nowhere. Pathwinder - a sort of Tetris path-making game where you salvage space junk. It had a lot of designs that I still like and try to reuse where I can.

I like my spaceships weird shaped, thank you.

And art I did for the sequel (which started off as just a Windows 95 port of the original game) - Zombie Wars. Yeah, we'd really given up on even trying to come up with interesting names for this series at that point.

Speaking of Halloween Harry - here are the splash screens I did for the game. The first one is the 32 color Amiga version we made in AMOS back in 1990... 35 years ago.

A bunch of character sprites that eventually ended up in Zombie Wars, the remake/sequel to Halloween Harry/Alien Carnage.

I used to love spending my spare time just designing lines of characters in Dpaint. God, I miss working in Dpaint.

So did nobody in the art dept at Microsoft check how the new Office icons would look as say, a Windows shortcut? Did the AI miss that in the rush to make 30% profit?

Spring (baby summer) isn't so bad around here. The Jacarandas are blooming and the dropped flowers haven't turned to a slick, decomposed mush yet. Sure, they're not native but they're the closest thing to an actual seasonal marker we get here.
