Remembering all those who served our Great Country. Fought so bravely, gave their young lives. The families at home who kept us going in the darkest of times. Respect and remembrance. #remembranceday #poppy #service #respect

This is a simple church but absolutely beautiful. Caistor St Edmund. Steeped in history. Well worth a visit.

This is the stunning church in Caistor St Edmund. We were very lucky to hear a gentleman playing the bagpipes in the church, he plays here every day. .#historic #church #norfolk #bagpipes

My friend and I often walk round the Roman Ruins in Caistor St Edmund. Sadly you now have to pay to park. It’s a much loved place for walkers. #roman #heritage #norfolk. #walks

All over the UK we have historic sites. We visited Creake Abbey near Burnham Market. It’s an Augustinian ruined abbey. Stunning. #abbey #historic #monks #norfolk #burnhammarket

Few interwar pubs survive with original features. The Iron Duke has a unique story serving the troops during WW11 despite not being fully built. The bars have counters made from teak taken from the WW1 Battleship HMS Iron Duke and it was built by Lacons which was a huge employer in the town .

Great article, lovely to be mentioned. Some amazing interwar pubs. Far too many have been lost. The Iron Duke has a wonderful story and AW Ecclestone was a truly gifted architect. The Lacons craftsmen built some amazing pubs and interiors most have been ripped out sadly. A few that are no more.

We can only hope that the pub will be faithfully restored and one day an experienced publican will be given the chance to take it on. I fail to see how Zaks will be a draw. Thank you as ever for all the support at least the pub is still here! GYBC wanted it gone.

This is the Ocean Rooms, once known as the Floral Hall in Gorleston on Sea. It’s an art deco beauty, at risk sadly. Owned by the council who despite their bluster would happily demolish it. Everyone came here to dance, for functions. #artdeco #dancehall #beach #seaside #venue #norfolk

This is the historic St Peter Mancroft Church in Norwich. Always busy as a community hub. Currently hosting the art installation called Hidden. You can also learn bell ringing in the church’s learning hub. #historicchurch #listed #medieval #norwich #art #norfolk

Great lunch at the Stag in Salhouse. Good job by Marcus Pearcey and all the team. Lovely to see the character of the pub retained. It just shows that all pubs need are the right managers! #pubs #norfolk #sundaylunch #hospitality #friendsandfamily

We don’t know how long their lease is. Our thoughts are they will quickly start making noises that the pretend pub side is not viable. They’ve also got to make it work all year round. With no pub experience. At least we’ve headed off the escape room and their original plan to remove the pub’s name.

Thank you for the mention. Yes the Iron Duke could be superb for Great Yarmouth but the council run trust believes a duo running burger bars know better than experienced publicans . There is no connection to Americana. What a missed opportunity! #pubs #artdeco #c20 #hmsironduke

As ever thank you everyone for all the support for the Iron Duke. A completely unique pub. We hope to see one day the pub back open as a classic British pub! The gentleman in the last photo is Pete Conway Robbie Williams’ dad! #pubs #heritage #artdeco #publicmoney
