Yes - you have the right to film ICE agents, as long as you don't interfere with their law enforcement activities.

Documenting ICE's actions can add a layer of accountability and shine a light on violent tactics, as well as help us advocate to abolish harmful policies.

BREAKING: A previous court order protecting Mahmoud Khalil from detention + deportation based on his advocacy for Palestinian rights was just overturned on technical grounds.

Let’s be clear: Any attempt by the Trump admin to re-detain Mahmoud right now would be unlawful. Mahmoud remains free. 🧵

This is huge. Achieving universal childcare would change the lives of millions of NYers, especially women, low-income families + communities of color.

Critically, it must include disentangling the childcare system from the family regulation system, which can traumatize & even tear families apart.

We joined thousands of NYers this weekend to say clearly: ICE does not belong in our streets or our communities.

ICE’s reckless escalations are a danger to us all. NYers demand an end to the abductions, the killings, the separation of families and the terrorizing of our communities. #ICEoutforgood

We urge the mayor to take immediate action to implement the law and end solitary confinement in our city jails.

NYers will be watching over the first 100 days and beyond to see how the mayor works to protect our rights.
What Can Zohran Mamdani Do to Change the NYPD?
Whether a conflict with the NYPD can be avoided remains to be seen, but observers that Hell Gate spoke to identified a number of modest but meaningful steps the mayor can take early in his term.

If ICE arrives at your door, know your rights:

❗Do not open the door. Not even a little bit. Immigration officers can only enter your home if they have a warrant signed by a judge.

❗You have the right to remain silent.

❗Do not falsely claim to be a US citizen or to be lawfully in the US.
