what I mean is that it's not just "not good", it's more that the manners in which it fail are so firmly and foundationally rooted in the way the technology operates that it's unfixable --- the failures are built-in at ground level here

speaking as both a longtime SMBC reader and an animator, this "animation" is emblematic of, like, a lot of the problems with genAI stuff, and it serves to highlight how the technology (at least for this use case) fails so fundamentally that "it'll get better" isn't applicable here

yeah, similar thing happened to me recently, where I noticed that my D&D stuff (theoretically the stuff I'm known for and the reason for my channel's success) has been consistently outperformed by almost all of my non-D&D stuff. strange times we're living in
