For most Windows users, the existing desktop shortcut for launching Firefox has been replaced with the desktop launcher, a small program that will launch Firefox if it is installed, but if it is not installed will prompt the user to install Firefox. If you open the app package properties and copy the icon from there, you will get the icon with system effects baked into it, not the source icon stored in the package.

(🧵 1/5) In macOS 26 Apple enforced the squircle shape for app icons. If an icon doesn't match the new format, it gets "plated" with a gray background.
A list of five applications, detailing why their icons might be "plated" or not. The information is organized into columns: the app icon, "Build Time," "Is Plated?," and "Plating Reason." ModernDeck: The build time is February 2023. It is not plated. Laney: The build time is October 2024. It is not plated. Sketch: The build time is January 2025. It is plated because a custom icon template was used. A note explains 
there seems to be some tolerance to slight difference in shadow settings in icon templates, but Sketch used a shadow that is different enough, which resulted in its icon being plated. Disk Drill: The build time is April 2024. It is plated due to using a custom icon template and having protrusions. Zotero: The build time is January 2025. It is plated because of protrusions. A note adds that the frame template appears to be official despite this.

Summer is over, better use that vinyl body for something more season-fitting

Was given a cute idea so wanted to do it (totally not as an excuse to draw myself as a pooltoy).

A shadow appears on the pooltoy's face from the ceiling as a piston rushes down and crushes it, then stretches it out, revealing deformed, stretched-out vinyl goo face, and then crushes it again. The piston produces a green vinyl record that’s grabbed by a brown paw and placed on a record player. The vinyl record seems flustered by this arrangement.

The sequence begins with the cat smirking mischievously at the confused fox. In the next moment, the fox is grabbed from the ceiling by its shirt by a manipulator arm and lifted into the air. The fox slips out of its clothing while the manipulator proceeds with the shirt to ghost hands that are ready to put the shirt on a hanger to store in a closet. The fox ends up in a metal chamber, looks concerned. In the next moment, a huge press slides down with a "CLANG!" sound, pressing the fox to an extreme degree. The press’s shape causes the fox to be shaped like a lemon, which gets picked up by the cat. The lemon gets sliced with a knife, squeezed on a juicer, and poured into a glass with a straw, decorated with one of the slices on the rim so the beverage can be drunk by the cat.

Not biggest fan of Audacity's new logo

It fits the rest of Muse Group's apps logo language

But imo there's very little continuity between the logos, and the abstract simplistic semicircle is clashing with the curvy headband.

I've finally made a ref that is up to date (🎵 but only for now)
A character sheet for a cartoonish cat character titled "Sominemo Cat", shows a green anthropomorphic cat standing, sitting, from the side, and back. Also contains a headshot with the cat stretching its own mouth with a finger and showing its own tongue, a doodle of the said cat wearing white gloves and holding a giant cartoony hammer, and a doodle of cat's paws holding a phone that appears to be a Google Pixel. The sheet points out design traits of the character like hair, glasses, collar, arm, leg and tail markings, finger and toe accents. The image also contains "Nutrition facts", listing 13% red, 71% green and 33% blue, the engridents for the green color of the cat's fur. The text also points out that the gold tag on the cat's green collar is usually empty, and that the hearts in the cat's ears is a way to depict earfluff and is not part of the design.
