Took an extra rest day yesterday, and turns out I needed it. I didn’t feel particularly strong today, but the extra 250 calories and rest made the weight move surprisingly easily on shoulders today.

One odd thing about me is how young I started thinking long term. I was putting money away for retirement at age 17.

Having had a taste of work and knowing I did not want to do that the rest of my life gave me motivation 😂

Definitely fighting body dysmorphia this morning. I made phenomenal progress toward my fitness goals last year, and I’m genuinely proud of that. But the day-to-day mental battles can still be pretty tough.

My everything hurt today. So did active rest with abs (I hate abs) and triceps which I missed over the weekend.

When you log 45lbs @ 25 reps for calf raises, but accidentally do 70lbs @ 25 reps for two of the sets.

Apparently that means the next day you can barely walk. 😂

With 2026 starting fresh, going to start a slow bulk to get back to 200lbs. Adding 250 calories per day and not changing anything else.

The plan works, and now persistence takes ownership.
