Wales isn’t faring much better. And someone needs to call the authorities, Rhyl and Cardiff have breached containment again

It made a spectacularly stupid map of Scotland too. Edinburgh clearly fallen a fair distance south since I last checked

anime.js is a JavaScript library I've been using recently to make web designs pop, give them the "wow" factor (insert other cringe buzzwords here as appropriate) - it's pretty cool!

Anyway, here's 12 examples of what you can do with it.

It is my thirty eighth birthday. I am opening the gifts of socks and a novelty dad mug. I am happy for these gifts. In one hour and twenty nine minutes I will eat too many chocolates and feel slightly sick

Honestly I think they did a great job

I have a little box of paragraphs where I keep examples like this and eventually it’ll get thrown into the sea (next time I’m at the beach)

What does this even mean? Who enjoys being sold things? What’s wrong with people?

If you’re going to use AI imagery, make sure you catch really basic errors like this.

The lack of care over even automated content is very obvious and especially when dealing with AI outputs you have to ensure you don’t let your skills atrophy. Because they will.

I'm putting the finishing touches to my new freelance web development site, to replace what's currently on solarise.dev (always a bit of a placeholder)

Looking good so far! I've got a marvellously fun 3D JavaScript animation that chugs away in the background of the home page.

I order prescription medication for my cat online and it’s a great site but so weird getting sales emails from them.

Like “oh which of my 1,000 favourite pet drugs am I going to impulse buy today? So much choice”

In fairness, I did then ask it to elaborate and it gave its reasoning, but then eventually started answering in Russian (I assume) so make of that what you will haha!

It seems the best they're able to do is to get it just dance around particularly sensitive issues but you can still get it to go straight to the point sometimes.

Normally they tend to make the AI ignore stupid questions but I think here they’re just “screw it, we have no idea what people will be asking”

It begins! The era of Bluesky verification is upon us. Hoping for good things from this implementation of it.

One of my favourite Bluesky bugs currently is when I go to post an image but instead it pastes the entire base64 encoded text of it.

There’s a beautiful chaos energy about it. Makes me smile every time.
