We ❤️ global soil studies!! So stoked to be getting samples from Australia, Africa, maybe Mongolia(?!), in addition to all of the awesome US NutNet sites!
Fly my pretties!! 🧹

Psyched to get another round of soil sampling kits out the door for our #NutNet dryland carbon add-on! Even more psyched for an excuse to meet and work with so many other dryland enthusiasts 🌍 @soilcarbonsci.bsky.social @ecology-awesome.bsky.social

I'm working with a colleague on a symposia for #SSSA this fall on #urban #soils, with a specific focus on soil #carbon. We're looking for folks doing research in this space, particularly in collaboration with NRCS, to present. DM me if that sounds like you or someone you know!

We are hiring a postdoc in my lab @colorado.edu to work on this NSF CAREER proposal (tinyurl.com/cak8dkza) to quantify how and when global change (drought, warming) alters the role of biodiversity in ecosystem functioning. Job here: colorado.avature.net/searchhub/Jo... 1/2

Does anyone have connections to soil scientists in India or experience sampling in India? I'm working on a Nutrient Network study and trying to negotiate the process of shipping soils back from India to the US for processing. Would love to connect with anyone who has done this before! #soil

Excited to see my first project from my PhD finally in print!

We isolated POM and MAOM fractions in soils from the Mojave Desert FACE site and found that long term elevated CO2 drives a loss of MAOM-C in soils under large, perennial shrubs.

I just realized that I am the person circling back after the new year... 😬 Can't help that I'm excited to get TSIP kits in the mail for spring soil sampling! We're going to get so much data in 2024 🤓

Anyone else get so far in to revising a manuscript that they simply forget how to write a sentence? Every paragraph is a Frankenstein's monster of 10 different scientists' thoughts (Advisor comments, thesis revisions, co-author comments, reviewer comments...)

Any advice on how to regain coherence?

Updating R and R Studio for the first time since defending (absolutely was not going to do that mid-thesis writing). Send good vibes 🙏

Ever wondered if push probes are really the best way to collect soil samples? 🤔 Our study demonstrates this drill mounted auger is just as effective as a probe for soil carbon estimates!

So excited to see this out in @sssajournal ahead of #CSA2023!

Rapid soil harvesting using a novel soil auger system for farm‐scale soil carbon estimates
Soil sampling at the landscape scale is increasingly in demand for assessing C sequestration projects in agroecosystems. Efforts to decrease sampling costs across large areas have thus far largely ig....

Spent this morning on a spooky trail run with my dog, soaking up a few hours in the woods before the rain moves in. I guess the weather gods really want me to work on my #SSSA presentations this weekend!
