Novel back underway after a couple years hiatus. Currently keeping text offline for reasons - sorry :( But I'll at least try to mention from time to time that I've been making the words.
Huh, got 1200 words in and my characters unstuck tonight. Plus I broke 100 pages at some point in the last couple sessions without even realizing it. It's starting to get real! #writingcommunity

This is spectacle - and a message. Several messages, actually.

For technical people, there is some solid actionable advice near the end of this article. For everyone, this reminds me a lot of what happened to Olive Garden once vulture capitalists bought it out.

Today I didn't go to the gym. I really didn't need to. Just getting that hoist across the yard through all that gravel was a lot.

#atlassian Confluence search is so fucking terrible that I'm sorely tempted to stand up a Sphinx instance so we can find shit in it. Like, the built-in search is worse than useless. #sysadmin

First time back to the #gym since Jan 2 or 3 when I got really sick. Lost 20 pounds by sitting around feeling sorry for myself lol. But seriously, it was great to be back, my lungs didn't freak out like I was afraid they would. Went about 2/3 strength and hit all my reps.

It's the year 2026 and human resources departments still have their heads so far up their asses that the following has to be pointed out to them:

"Generally, if the annual self-eval requires a tutorial to be able to do, that begs the question of whether the eval process was well-designed. At […]

So when you're watching a show that has the "nudity" content warning at the beginning but it's about people in an emergency room chances are pretty good it's going to disappoint anyone looking for something gratuitous.

It's finally #baseball season again, and I'm here for it.

So many lemons this year (the photo is just today's haul), but did the person who planted this garden really need to crowd a rosebush right up next to the tree? Thorns all the way down. #gardening

People don't believe it when I tell them what a normal allergy fit is for me. Which leads to some form of "told you so" after they see me experience one. #achoo

When people say Shakespeare isn't relevant to modern life it's good to have people like Sir Ian around to prove them wrong:

I love when I close my laptop and bring it home and it's blazing hot in the backpack because #windows is a total piece of shit that can't even do sleep mode reliably even though it's 2026 and they've been at this specific task for literally 30 years now.

Only 735 words tonight, but they were heavily loaded. What I thought was going to be one character chewing out another became a bitter argument between a mother and her adult daughter that's going to take time to resolve. #amWriting #writingcommunity
