If CTV explored the ethics here, I'd like to see that included in the story. It stands out to me that the one person's voice that isn't included here is the one who is the subject of the story - and whose capacity and potentially autonomy is being questioned

Good questions. If the story posits that her parents should be empowered to commit her to involuntary treatment, surely they would be a conduit to that consent? It just seems odd to me to have someone possibly shut out of commenting on their own story. Seems like right of reply should be explored?

As is your right! To me, it seems wrong for our independent elections administrator to hand over contact info to partisans

If people want to provide their info to political parties, they are free to do so but being registered with EBC does not mean you want to be contacted by political parties
