here’s a chart from the UN on the standards. a classic way that dumbos misuse the information (like our HHS secretary) is thinking that “unprocessed foods” are automatically better, and horking down mostly meat (to his obvious detriment). Real world nutrition is more guideline, less maniacal codes.

Really well put. I'm reminded of this bit of Whitehead, and it serves as pillar for how I approach "religion" and science now. I think religion has added challenges of preserving meaning and symbols (through reinterpretation) across time, but: change is to be welcomed, a ground for us, not a threat.

Korea Basketball Disaster Former NBA star Doug Christie is issuing an apology to all Americans who are upset with him for joining Dennis Rodman's basketball trip to North Korea ... telling TMZ Sports it he had it all to do over again, he'd probably just stay at home. Christie tells us he's well aware of the "hailstorm" of criticism directed at him and the rest of the NBA guys who joined Rodman on the trip... and says he knows people are upset with him for socializing with a tiny, angry, uncle-killing anti-American dictator. Now, Christie is breaking his silence to TMZ Sports... saying, "I'd like to apologize to my family and friends and all my fellow Americans if what I did was un-American or unpatriotic." Christie says if he knew then what he knows now, he "probably wouldn't [have gone on the trip]" ... but notes, "The culterual exchange was awesome."

a consulting/market research guy in the area. tough stuff, tbh. oh, getting politically active? now? good call, dude.
4 things THC beverage brands can begin to do now: 1. Get politically active. If your business depends on legalizing THC, don't leave the debate to others. Get active and try to change minds over the next 12 months before the ban goes into effect. 2. Survey and speak with your consumers. If you have an email list from your DTC business survey your consumers or use AI-led consumer interviews. Your goal is to figure out how you can extend your brand beyond THC. Ask them, what does your brand stand for from their perspective? What occasions did they drink your beverage (e.g., party with friends, end of day wind-down)? What other food and beverage brands do they love? What other products would they be interested in purchasing from you? 3. Begin working on new non-THC products. Consider close-in extensions like energy drinks, calming/relaxation drinks, or other functional beverages. Determine if you'll need new manufacturing or can use existing partners 4. If you're in retail, begin talking to your buyers. Explore if they'd be interested in other products from you to serve the same consumer.

and, not to get too grand, but “crowd out instead of cut out” is just good life advice, far from the pantry. works for all kinds of changes we want to make.
Here's its most important lesson: Don't emphasize cutting animal-based foods out of your diet. Instead, crowd them out by constantly discovering vegan foods you prefer.

Again, I get people who say that the District isn’t the problem. But it is a real perception problem, and I don’t think it fair to ask Dems to “well actually” everyone about it. It might be, but it’s not an intuitive or “easy” decision
