That left pic looks like it's from Monster Hunter World. Capcom isn't what I would call a AA western studio. A point that can't be made without lies isn't much of a point.

But what's wrong with MHW characters anyway? I prefer attractive characters in games too, and MHW chars looks great IMO.

Capcom told at least some reviewers about it ( youtu.be/oDi5ijlvzVI&... ) but whether everyone got the same press email is unclear, and what people chose to do with that information varies. For example this guy looked at the MTX and decided it's useless and therefore not worth mentioning.

Understandable. I can see how Nina's fullbody catsuit would be a package deal, but a lot of the other outfits don't have that excuse.

Even some other Capcom titles have it worse. Can't earn outfit 3 in Street Fighter 6 just by playing the game. Can't get the plushy weapons in Monster Hunter Rise that way either.

In the big picture I'm with you, but AFAIK Capcom hasn't had layoffs in the last year. Instead they told investors that they're raising employee salaries.

The blame ultimately lies on Mastercard who are using their dominant position to police what people can and cannot buy. They put the screws to Stripe, who then put the screws to Gumroad. It sucks, but there's a way to put the screws back on Mastercard, I think this will just keep happening.
