As far as I know, it came to us from another forum - a German bodybuilding one, IIRC - so we definitely didn't originate it but nobody's been able to find anything predating us on English-speaking sites.

I've seen this on so many cars that originate with a Japanese brand (and one E46 imported from Japan) that I always assumed it was because of the cultural significance of golf in Japan.

Like, I scour lots of sites for SpeedBites every day and it's just crazy how bad it is now. Today, a major UK auto site has the wrong "your" in its subhead. I've also just checked back into one I flagged with the brand several months ago and it *still* has "Maxda" in the headline.

He tries very hard to disguise his location by cutting away from village name signs, but it's pretty stupid to do so as that is quite clearly all shot around Ulley near Rotherham. Well, clearly if you grew up nearby 😁
