One of my favorite things to do is hype up the amazing people I’m lucky to count among my friends, and because I’ve been awfully negative lately (hard not to in the ceaseless hell of USA politics and so on) I’m going to get back to that.
This is entirely arbitrary. Pardon the typical chaos. 1/???

Remember when Biden dropped the COVID isolation guidelines down to just 5 days, not because of any actual medical science, but because the Delta CEO asked him to?
Our lives have always been meaningless to establishment Dems compared to the profits of the donor class.

It just makes it look like they said, oh, shit, I had to scrap my weekend at the lake house because my flight was canceled. Or worse, the airlines called and I sold out my constituents at the order of the Delta CEO. I’m no Senate whisperer but when people look at the math it isn’t great.

Every single Dem that caved and agreed to this deal needs to be primaried and voted out. They are cowards who wasted the last month for a half baked promise vote a month from now.

Keeping both boys occupied while also trying to get in some of today’s exercise goal, which largely consists of a few sets of one or two exercises followed by 3 wanting chased around or trying to tackle me like the lesser known starter Pokemon he is.

One of the wildest things in the fitness/weightlifting space on TikTok is guys who would struggle lifting a single, bone dry paper towel digging deep to find the audacity to comment on women who could lift a whole goddamn truck like it’s light work.
You are choosing danger, fools.

Confession: I just can’t get into Dungeon Crawler Carl. I mean this at a conceptual level.
Almost - almost - picked up the first book at Barnes & Noble. Leafed through it and it was just ‘eh.’

This was going to be the year I tried to make it to PAX Unplugged, but life was relentless and I certainly don’t have the time or funds to make that happen.
Better luck next year, perhaps.
That said: wishing those of you going a few weeks from now safe travels and a lovely time.

The New York Times shitting out a misogynistic nightmare of an op-ed piece during these profoundly ignorant times not only tracks with how fucking sloppy they’ve gotten, but it also still manages to be so infuriating.
It’s failing an open book, notes-allowed exam. Dipshits.

I apparently have zero patience for unsolicited parenting advice from strangers today.
Sorry not sorry to older woman who I told to mind her business at the library while out with my boys. I’m their dad, I promise I’m not clueless, but I do have a remarkable lack of patience today.

Forgot that the morning started with a trip to the playground, so the boys got to do that, go to the Children’s Museum and Science Center, and we visited my grandma.
A good day. An exhausting day.

Took 7 and 3 to The Children’s Museum and Kamin Science Center in an effort to tire them out a little today, and I’m pretty sure the only person who ended up tired was me.

Getting more used to, but still really feeling, using the 30lb dumbbells. Spacing out using the pre-workout and trying to be smart about how I approach the workouts as well.
Once again: lifting the heavy circles continues to give me the happy brain slop. Big fan of that.

School called my wife because 7 saw a student being mistreated by another student, and so he intervened by biting the one student.
I mean…Proud of him for standing up to kids for doing lousy things. Would’ve preferred to not have it go the “take a literal bite out of crime” approach.

Not feeling excited for multiple years of people using Mamdani’s win as a foundation upon which to build a Newsom 2028 platform.
We know we can do better now, so why shift back to settling? No reason to do so.

My favorite assessment of the current state of Pokemon is that some people are so wrapped up in nostalgia while also being unable to recognize that you can outgrow the things you liked and so instead they just bash on it endlessly.
Applies to so much else as well.
Let people enjoy things.

I, for the love of dog, do not know why I've had to listen to fireworks for the last 2 weeks going continuously until past 1 or 2 in the morning.
I feel so bad for our furry friends.

Since this is STILL going on where we live, I’m sharing this again.
Contact your MP if you’ve had enough of this bullshit firework nonsense going on for over a WEEK! 😡😡😡

Not me reporting a thing that needs investigated further at work only to get a “nuh-uh, they said it’s good” response.
Like…What the FUCK is your job? Because you’re ruthlessly inefficient at it.

The tattoo pain level trend is wild.
Tattoos hurt. How much they hurt depends on placement, yeah, but also varies wildly person to person based on their pain tolerance.
I get rocked by sinus headaches so getting stabbed with ink for cosmetic purposes is whatever. Not a universal experience.

Disney is undoubtedly one of the most sinister corporate entities in the world, but I do derive a significant bit of joy from knowing AI-slop factories using Disney IP are going to experience such a reckoning.

Watching The Grinch (the one that stars Brandywine Crumplethatch or whatever the fuck his name is) with 3 because I’m home and tired and he’s home from school and tired, but he’s also an extension of my shadow and that’s nice. It’s good to know I was missed while on the road.

Love this streaming trend where I pay for the higher tier in exchange for ad-free viewing and then get to enjoy ads anyway.
That’s a mouthful, though. If only there was a simple, single-word name for that. Like cable.
Fucking goodness gracious.

My birthday’s later this month, but I’ve been especially gloomy lately so I’m thinking of something to do to try celebrating myself and my upcoming birthday.
It’ll probably be something TTRPG-related. Or nerd stuff. I don’t know.
Anyway, pardon the grumping.
