I’ve seen recently a drastic change in the ideas of people around here. No longer are many passive aggressive, they are simply full on aggressive in espousing views that even the Book of Mormon speaks out against. The church recently did a community outreach with a Hindu temple, and many freaked out

Well said. Naivety is a luxury we couldn’t afford in the last election, and that’s why those of us that learned are just as angry and those that showed it as those that wanted this.

Please don’t hate me for that, I was a stupid naive Mormon who hadn’t yet quite given up on the world. I didn’t know just how depraved most of my fellow members were, I hadn’t yet lost faith in Christians

You know. I actually did vote third party in 2016. It was a mistake and I know it, but I was sure a devout Mormon FBI agent would win Utah over a sleezy real estate guy. I was wrong. Republicanism is most Mormons real religion… never again will I make that mistake.

Yeah no kidding. It’s sometimes on a delay too. I lost two grandmothers in September, I have been dreaming about them recently. Not sure how to deal with it all the time.

I… I wish I didn’t have to. It seems that a large chunk of people we thought were decent were merely waiting for the chance to be absolutely evil.

This doesnt give the nice ones an excuse mind you, and I told her that, but far more are dropping any pretense and being awful cause they think they can.
Keep in mind also she voted for harris, but the extreme Mormon stance is that because of that, shes as apostate as I am.

I was finally able to explain to my mother my frustration because of this post. People now are using trumpy as an excuse to be horrible to people, where even many Mormons like her are dropping all decorum and going full on asshole. Mormons are passive aggressive, they see dropping decorum as a sin.

The important aspect of all of these is that they acknowledge the fact that kids can be smart in their own way, often smarter than most adults set in their ways are. We need to encourage that

Thank you for the follow up. I don’t know a lot of graphic novels but I will stand by the works of prolific authors lik Roald Dahl, Beverly Cleary, Louis Sacher and Judy Blume.
I know some of Dahls earlier books have some unfortunate parts, but his grasp of a child’s mind is incredible

Bad as it probably sounds, I hate the former more than the latter. The later are evil little shits that belong in jail and on the fringes of society, but the former are willfully ignorant of the events that led us here, they put their hands over their ears and pretend it’s all good.

There are two types of people that made this happen, the people who thought Trump wouldn’t be so crazy, and the people that wanted it. The former are idiots, hands down cause after all these years they should have known better, the later are just evil, but we already knew that
