Since I started with game design I've tried to define what the fuck it actually entails. And honestly.. I still don't know, but I think that I've boiled it down to two words:

Empathy & Intuition.

Like, there's a million things adjacent to Design, but you really only *need* these two skills..or?

seeing talking about nanite and lumen because of popular ue5 games all looking the same burns my mood like nothing else 💀
not even because of whatever discourse at the time is going on it just reminds me of my old job

I know this is not like a hot take but game jams fucking rock.
I'd love to host something larger if Timezones weren't a thing.

Debating taking the plunge into learning Godot (for like the millionth time), do y'all have any cool tips and/or tips on understanding how the engine is structured and maybe something to think about from someone who has primarily worked in Unreal until this point?

Yesterday I started adding steaming-hot geysers and accompanying lilypad platforms! I also implemented a "lilypad seed" that can be used to grow your own platforms on water and geysers.
Is this a clever way to introduce the seed mechanic?
