That’s what I was thinking. If she’s too “mentally & physically fragile” to move, how on earth is she living alone?

I’m pretty sure this is a joke & not meant ss serious advice. I appreciate it’s not obvious because it’s not v funny, but the “denial denial” bit does suggest it’s a joke.

I’m just saying according to *his own numbers* the vaccine is still much safer.

Inheritors should be allowed to rent out the flats to cover the service charge. Management don't allow it because they get an exit fee when you sell. But they've created a vicious cycle that makes them even harder to sell. If they were forced to allow rentals, I think they'd get more sales not less

If we reformed this sector more people would. Sorry to post twice I’m v frustrated that no one’s looking at this issue. Especially in the midst of a housing crisis! If uptake in U.K. matched USA would free up hundreds of thousands of homes without costing a penny or dealing with NIMBYs

Reforming retirement communities could make a huge difference to this. 0.6% of over 60s move to them in UK vs 5-7% in US & Australia. The big problem is with the current rules they are a nightmare for your kids to inherit. Hanging that could encourage a lot more elderly people to move to them

My Dad just moved into a retirement community and loves it! But they are very poorly regulated & can be a nightmare to inherit so most people avoid them. Fixing this problem could encourage a lot more people to move to them. Less than 1% of over 60s in the U.K. move to them vs 5-7% in US & Australia

I get that. I often think these topics have been too dominated by journalists & writers. I wish we gave more airtime to endocrinologists, psychologists & criminologists.

That’s like saying you don’t need to wear a seatbelt until after you’ve been in an accident.

How irreversible are puberty blockers? I thought in the majority cases normal puberty returns if the medications are stopped. What % of kids are unable to restart puberty after taking blockers? (I’m not arguing btw I am trying to learn more)

I like the analogy (alluded to in that thread) that vaccines are like giving the local cops mugshots of people to watch out for, rather than having them wait until after someone starts trouble locally to do anything.

I think we’ve really underestimated how much Islamophobia is the driving force of the far right. GB News in particular is obsessed with it

I’m genuinely furious that a journalist he was sleeping with got away with publishing puff pieces about him.
