Of course this is nothing new. I talk about this with my 1Ls with Iqbal. Court held that it was not "plausible" in light of "common sense and judicial experience" that the federal government intentionally discriminated against "Arab" (word being misused by the Court) Muslim men after 9/11

that being said one of the most immediately doable short-term fixes for this (at least football and basketball) I've heard actually did come from Simmons: don't let people bet unders.

the single most insane block I've ever seen. He was like falling over the wrong direction one second and blocking it the next.

Economic demand for quality journalism is fickle at best, and journalism itself is a public good. Excellent reporters simply cannot consistently capture the economic value they create. A healthy public sphere, including plural media sources, needs public investment of some form.

The Epstein story gets a something that is tearing at the heart of the electorate: elite impunity. The idea that wealthy and powerful people can do terrible things *at scale* and face no consequences for them. Whatever political party actually stops it could rule the country for a generation.
