I used to be a streamer (wasn't very good), have also spent the last 20 years on the railway (must be doing something right) and all but a full-time unpaid carer (because I work).

These 37 hour Centurion days are amazing for time management.
It's one of those little victory days.

When the new 6-monthly roster comes out - like it did today - and I can take the excel spreadsheet, convert it into a file and upload it to my Google Calendar in under 20 minutes.

Others will be writing in their diary for a few hours.

Turned over to find qualifying for F1 in Austin, Texas.

First person I thought of is not in Texas this weekend due to TwitchCon....

In between re-watching Game of Thrones, finding Giant Lobster Hunters, and realising that to keep watching UFC will cost me £35 a month extra from the New Year.....

..... Suggest some Twitch streams to get me back into watching Twitch - [ No - I am not starting streaming again ]

This weekend has been the first time in 2025 that I have taken paracetamol. That must mean it's bad.

I am in absolute bloody agony. I have done something to my back and I made the mistake of going into town with the family this morning for the kids extra-curricular activities.

Was going to a friends birthday drinks - cancelled
Should have gone anniversary present shopping - cancelled

Awwww bugger.

So I went to London to a Court Monday to lodge papers. I got an email today from the Court saying "Yeah, we accepted your paperwork and sent an acknowledgement, but afterwards we realised you did not sign it."

I really was a pillock.

I get the feeling that the parcel is never going to get here.

The Etsy sellers response was "We advise to not change the delivery address after dispatch."

Yodel's response is simply lie after lie. "It's on the van" was today's response.

I really should spend more time here than I do in that other God-forsaken place. Each day there makes me wonder the rate that idiocy replicates.

If I have my F1 withdrawn next week, I might be compelled to actually do that!

Or I will get arrested by the Court for criticising them in a statement.

I wonder if anyone has any inspiration for a source.

I am in need of a large print version of Helena Duggan's book A Place Called Perfect.

Eldest's school have not been able to get one and I sent a message to Helena via her website but not had a reply yet.

Can I just say,
In the nicest possible way,
I appreciate you are now waiting for a rhyme,
But the Court of Protection can bit my shiny metal..... stack of paperwork.

For the love of God, do your Lasting Power of Attorney.

Bah!

Think my RX580 is on the blink now. AMD Drivers are haphazard at loading and the Adrenaline bug report says they crash.

It IS 8 years old though, and was used to streaming and gaming. It spends most of its time at 70c + when under gaming load as well.

A blast from the past - I also have a Blackberry Q10 knocking about here somewhere....

You know what? I am slowly starting to enjoy playing games again. It's been about 3 years coming since I burnt out in COVID.

The game I am enjoying, Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic.... on Realistic difficulty, as I always did.

So not only do Senior Mental Health Services refuse to complete Court mandated mental capacity forms, but the GP surgery has no direct electronic contact for enquiries.

No contact form.
No email address.

Nothing.

So I had to find a "feedback" email address and feedback!
February 28, 2025 at 2:09 PM
Bah! I love our systems and processes in the UK.

Court of Protection requires a mental capacity form to apply.

The Mental Health Team directly involved will not do it as it is non-NHS work.

The GP will, but is not mental health trained.

The Adult Social Services team have not bothered to reply.

Should I laugh about this advert?

We are currently rotating a first aid kit for an 86 year old with dementia.

The box was fairly new, about 10 years old.... the contents:

I finally said enough.

An old Linux box has been taken apart:

* Core2Duo CPU
* MSI 750Ti GPU
* An ASUS AM3+ Mobo
* 32GB Corsair DDR3 RAM

It was getting a bit noisy, and slow.

At Christmas I went out and get myself a Pi5 with a NVMe hat and associated peripherals.

I installed headless Pi OS on it with loads of ideas. How many have I actually achieved?

Two out of lots.

OMV and QBitTorrent....

Bah! I have so many ideas and such lack of execution.

I admitted defeat!

I am back to relying on the paper-based version of our work-bible.

Yes, I am paying for it out of my own pocket at each update.

Long shot question.

I am looking for a cheap TV 32 to 40 inch, which has **NO** sleep, auto shut off, or anything.

Despite this Samsung having every option off, it still turns off after two hours... even with Anynet+ disabled.

It's for someone with dementia. Just want to turn on and leave on.

You know what, I have my most extravagant ideas when I am asleep.

You know, the ideas like a blog that would only really be achievable in any scale if I had dozens of writers or really good AI skills.

Yes, the ideas that I have neither the skills or funds to achieve.

I just spotted my unintentional and embarrassing spelling mistake.

How IT becomes U - I will never know.
Having enjoyed Civ 4 and 5, I wanted to love 6 but could not get in to it.

I don't know whether to start looking deeply at u with love and care, or stick with Workers & Resources (which I have got quite into recently)
January 14, 2025 at 7:42 PM
Bah!

I love a baptism by fire, but trying to set up my new Raspberry Pi5 has been more complex than I thought!

I am glad I set up a PKM system to document what I am doing so I can unwind some of it!

A shame to see such a determined advocate for rights to leave.

Let's hope his successor will do just as well.
