Every Christmas season, I remember the moment in Home Alone when Marv is hit by a falling iron. This iron takes 6 seconds to fall. Accelerating at 9.8 m/s², that means it fell 580 feet--almost half the height of the Empire State Building--and hit Marv going 130 miles per hour.

I rewatched Aliens recently and subjected multiple people to my takes about how good it is. But what I didn't really get into with any of them is how visceral all of the goop is. It's so fucking goopy in a way that you just can't recreate with fake computer goop.
