So awhile ago, @deia.ca and I decided to do a project in our basement: a fiber optic star ceiling. There are approximately 3,800 stars, or 12 miles of fiber strands across more than 200 tiles.
It's probably the most ambitious home project we’ve done!

Maybe this is the nudge I need to get off social media. The capitulation by @bsky.app is disappointing. Sure I could just tunnel all my traffic through a VPN, but at some point I've gotta ask myself if it's worth it.

This has been the first time I've gone to Vegas for leisure in years.
Vegas has always been about separating visitors from their money, but in the past, there was an implicit social contract. You hand casinos your money, but they treat you well.
That no longer exists. It’s now "fuck you, pay me."

I now have two separate apps on my phone called HBO Max. WB tried to get rid of the HBO branding, so they discontinued the old app to launch a new app called Max. That branding went so poorly that they had to rename the new app to what the old app was called.
