i dont really buy that simply bc there are brutal situations elsewhere (outside of europe) but people still did. i think some tipping point will make it possible even in the US but the difference is despite the nazism, pedophile rings, imperialism, assassination, that point still hasn't been reached

i remember i said something along these lines on the other site and it got loads of conservative men angry about it so "children should have the freedom to be able to grow into the kind of adults of various genders they might want to be" is most certainly the proper political line people should hold
the thing teenage boys need to hear more than anything else is that it is actually okay if they don't grow up to be men at all. they don't have to feel invested in the political interests of men as a class, bc they dont have to BE men. it's okay if they grow up to be women, or something else :)
