The Cat of the Week is Rufus (The Tiny House Panther)

He only had the tiniest bit of turkey, but he's still very sleepy.

I had Thanksgiving as a resident a couple of times. There was a huge difference between the experience at the rich suburban hospital and the downtown hospital.

One of them will likely jump up to have some off of my plate.

If it turns out badly, they can have more of it. Although that probably just gives me consequences to deal with later.

I've got none of the innards. I'm not making a real turkey.

I'm only making a tenderloin. (I'm by myself)

I'm afraid that it will be way too lean to be useful in making a gravy. I've got a mason jar with "turkey stock" labeled on it. I definitely made it at some point in time. But didn't date it.

The cats won't be getting any gravy.

Not so sure any of the birds would make good eating. Perhaps the doves. They are pretty fat.

There are wild turkeys in the yard sometimes. But I suspect I'd be in trouble with the constabulary for poaching those.

The Canada geese would likely overpower me.

I've got some frozen turkey stock of indeterminate age (but very suspicious). I might try adding a little of that if needed.

I do have jarred gravy in the pantry as a last resort if I fumble the attempt at gravy.

I'm weighing the pros and cons of just making a scant pan sauce and a separate gravy.

Breaking away from the joking, I'm actually worried about the gravy!

I've got a turkey tenderloin with a spice rub I'm going to sous vide then pan sear to finish.

I think that there will be very little in terms of drippings. I might try adding some of the liquid left over from the sous vide bag...

5. Where the pumpkin pie has been replaced by something nice instead.

yeah it’s bad that Lizza has been sitting on this for so long but also how cursory and inept was that Vox investigation that not only managed to miss the biggest scandal in the history of American political journalism but affirmatively exonerated her bsky.app/profile/bkel...
So the editor of New York Magazine said there was no bias or ethical problems with Olivia's articles?

Does he still think that?

They should retract all of her stories

The only real change I normally make to the recipe is using skinless, boneless thighs instead of bone in ones.

I have tinkered a few other times. Sometimes I'll make some white beans and mix them in after cooking is done. (I didn't get the result I wanted trying to mix them in earlier.)

I really love that recipe. I've also done it by prepping/freezing the vegetables ahead of time. I was already using frozen chicken. (The last couple places I've lived have had sketchy availability for the various peppers. So I'd grab a bunch when they were available, especially if prices were good.)

What's that? That's somehow completely different? Hmm.

Presumably all the people who argued this should be an acceptable usage because it's just describing what people do will also have no problems with people choosing whatever they like among there/their/they're or you're/your. Lots of people use them this way. Even if traditionally considered "wrong".
