Everybody was so gagged after seeing his work at Sundance that’s what got me to pay attention to it. So I’m wondering what happened.

But yeah, gorgeous movie that made the best of its source material. It’s so romantic, so dreamy, and proper old Hollywood style dance sets? I’m deceased!

I’m OBSESSED!! I’m so desperate to see new work from him that I actually watched Carry On and of course he’s the best part of the movie. I’ve begrudgingly made my peace with the distribution fumble and box office crash, but how is he not sweeping the critics association prizes? Only Chicago??

Oh god that’s so creepy doing that with a living person too.

All it’s gonna take is one video of Goofy going down on Kristoff (or wtever the fuck his name is) and they’ll pull the plug on the whole thing.

One of the people I talked to that rebuilds homes using volunteers said they outsource things like sheetrock because they are that fast and good at it.

But it's REALLY important to note how exploitive that industry can be of them. Trump is making it easier to stiff these people for their labor
Trump’s immigration and tariff policies complicate disaster response ahead of hurricane season
Immigrants are disproportionately employed in the construction industry.

All of us can only know so much about any given thing. We can't all be perfectly media literate and comprehend how vaccines work and do our own medical research and know how to pick a good movie out of endless streaming slop factories and know how stocks work to manage 401Ks, etc. etc. etc.

All that expertise and curation has been devalued, destroyed. The new line is that we can be our own experts, deciding which news to consume and how, even down to the voice that delivers that news to us. It's as socially detrimental and dangerous as telling people to do their own vaccine research.

There were dozens of magazines devoted to music, movies, books with culture fiends and subject matter experts who would guide you to the media that most deserved your time and money. Siskel and Ebert would watch all the movies get on TV each week to tell you what was what!

The destruction of curation is hand-in-hand with the devaluation of expertise. There used to be an entire team at daily newspapers whose entire function was deciding what went on the front page every day! And a digital homepage team! Making executive decisions about what most merited your attention

It’s very good. Stream immediately.

Tonatiuh finally caught a break with the Chicago Film Critics Association too. 😀 Someone at Showbiz411 said they never got a screener from Roadside? This is at least the second great gay film that distributor had fumbled. (I Love You Phillip Morris being the first.)

Oh there’s a good handful of us going mental for it. I watched Carry-On the other night for the first time just for Tonatiuh when you couldn’t put a gun to my head to get me to watch it otherwise. And he was great!
