The one thing that has struck me most about the United States right now, is not Trump's brazen and ruthless dismantling of democracy, systems and people, it's the fact the United States is either too afraid or genuinely powerless to do anything about it.
Just broke 49.6°C.

Our highest temperature since records began, previous was 48.1°C

Day not over yet either.

Nah, it's not climate change at all... Or so the morons say.

Ceduna, South Australia, just peaked at 49.5°C

It's previous all time record was 48.6°C

My turn tomorrow.

To my American friends, this forecast will break the 120 degrees fahrenheit limit.

Our all time record is 48.1c

So in my best Robin Williams voice, "It's HOT, DAMN HOT!"

Our highest ever temperature is 48.1.

Looks very much like we're gonna' break it.

In '83 I came down from the bush with years of experience fighting fires. I volunteered to help during Ash Wednesday, I was fit, strong, could drive trucks, hold a hose, carry a pack, whatever was needed.

Rejected because I 'wasn't trained'.

I never offered again.

As one fair dinkum South Aussie to another, don't do this.

Playing politics here is not the win you think it is - censorship does not get to decide what or who is right. Doesn't matter if you agree or disagree, this is not your remit.

Putting this out there.

Attack/Annex/Steal Greenland. NATO collapses.

It is an intended consequence.

THAT would have to be one of the worst nights I can ever recall for sleeping.

Temp yesterday was 47.3

Aircon went off at 11pm because we simply cannot afford to run it all night. It was 36.1

At 2.30am it was still 34.3

Temp now, 6:30, is 32.3

Forecast is 46 again.

Won't get below 30 until 9pm

"It is unthinkable the PM would choose a commissioner that did not have the total confidence of the Jewish community," Mr Frydenberg wrote.

So Frydenberg wants a commission that is NOT necessarily impartial AND he expects the results to be sympathetic to the Jewish?

The last thing SA needs right now is a severe weather warning with temperatures in the mid to high 40c.

But a warning we just got.

"DAMAGING WIND GUSTS with peak gusts to 100 km/h are likely with thunderstorms during the afternoon and early evening."

44c already here, winds gusting 21kts. 11 am 😬

"This makes international community reactions to breaches particularly important."

Trump unequivocally broke international law. In other words @albomp.bsky.social, Australia should be condeming the action outright, not obfuscating with 'Oh but Maduro was a bad guy'.

Were the US actions in Venezuela legal under international law?
International law is created by all states, not just the powerful few. This makes international community reactions to breaches particularly important.
