For Dragon Quest 1 HD, I have a few criticisms, but all in all, it's been a wonderful experience that breathes so much new life into the characters and world I grew up with.

The earpads on my favorite Sony noise cancelling headphones were disintegrating and I almost fell into the trap of just getting the newest model headphones, but I researched a good replacement pad (OEM no longer available) and got them on. Working, feeling and sounding great.

Foolish Jadeite, targeting all those teenage girls and failing to collect enough energy. What a joke. I, Nephrite, have a much better plan. Instead of stealing energy from a lot of teenage girls with normal amounts of energy, I’ll target a single teenage girl who has a lot of energy.

In the anime, Jadeite gets put into eternal sleep (why not just death?) by Queen Beryl for failing (the scouts made him get hit with an airplane that he was using to attack them for some reason.)

Got a Switch card case. There’s a couple stragglers missing but they’ll turn up. I’ve never traded or sold any even if I didn’t really like them. Maybe one day.

Sailor Moon update: her tiara throw didn’t work tonight so Sailor Mars stepped in and burned the monster to death.

Looking at the Dragonlord’s castle then and now. It certainly does explain why we don’t just cross the water.

You can still carry the princess around for the rest of the game and they even added some things. You can see her standing there on the battle screen behind you. And I hear there’s a lot of extra dialogue if you keep her with you.

This went from a stronger than normal random encounter in the original game to a 15 minute long intense back-and-forth nail biter.
