Netflix now has the Tamil language Indian sports drama BISON KAALAMAADAN, about an aspiring player of kabbadi (rugby-ish, looks like). A Diwali release…I don’t think it got great reviews, despite the director's rep following his coming of age tragedy VAAZHAI (on Hulu). I like VAAZHAI so I’m curious.

Headed to the Alpine for PREDATOR: 10TH AVENUE FREEZOUT tonight. Before then, checking out the first half of Anurag Kashyap’s NISHAANCHI 2, which went straight to OTT streaming and got mixed reviews…but the first one is pretty strong, so we shall see…

Prime now has NISHAANCHI, a two-movie Anurag Kashyap crime saga about twin brothers (newcomer Aaishvary Thackeray). No idea what to expect—always interested, though not always invested in Kashyap’s work—but I’ll be sure to give it a shot.
