I don't like tooting my own horn, but I am a great ape. I have written two books. The first was a novel. The second analyzed litigation challenging the 2020 election. Both were written using a pseudonym because of pervasive bias against gorillas.
I like to think I would adhere to the Constitution. Because, you know, that is what defines America.

We were discussing the Trump's unconstitutional imposition of an export tax; suddenly, without warning, we swivel to your very low opinion of liberals who are, of course, all alike.

But it was Trump who unilaterally imposed a financial obligation on a successful company.

Is HE a liberal?

That may be a credible reason for abandoning the restriction. But does it justify Trump imposing what is, essentially, an export tax, in exchange for abandoning the restriction?

The takeaway here is that the US has a hit list. Someone in law enforcement, or an intelligence agency, identifies people who should be killed on sight. There is no indictment, no arrest, no interrogation, and certainly no trial. Just murder.

Why do so many people think this is OK?

This is a really weak article. It ignores the practical impact of Trump's edict. Airlines are avoiding Venezuela. There is an economic impact. Why would you not delve into these issues?

And while Duffy is at it, why not bring back the 1972 Pinto? And do away with the seatbelt and airbag?

A cop who uses a sniper rifle to shoot suspected drug dealers doesn't commit a war crime. It is murder. It is no different when the shooter is commanding a navy drone and the suspect is in a boat.

Calling these killings "war crimes" lends credence to the admin. claim that we are at "war." We aren't

Trump is NOT striking "narco-states." He is attacking individuals accused (by God-knows-who) of illegality.

Do not adopt the notion that a "war on drugs" is more than a metaphor, or that bombing a private boat is a strike against a "narco-state"

We are not at war. We are just killing the accused.

If foreigners smuggling drugs are "enemy combatants," then Americans buying those drugs are conspiring with the enemy, and guilty of treason.

That is the inescapable logic of Trump treating the "war on drugs" as more than metaphor.

Considering they claim to have been unfairly targeted by law enforcement, that we should disbelieve the accusations of informants (against them), it seems Trump and MAGA should be the last folks to believe shadowy claims that a given boat is smuggling drugs justifies extrajudicial execution.
December 3, 2025 at 8:20 AM
The "war on drugs," like the "war on poverty," was a metaphor. Even the "war on terror" was a metaphor.

It boggles the mind that the administration justifies lethal action against suspects of crime because (he says) they literally are enemy combatants.

Trump is at war with the English language.

In response to the criminal act of a LEGAL immigrant, JD Vance said, "We must redouble our efforts to deport people with no right to be in our country."

So you would have immediately sold the story?
