Epic gay boy moments in Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake. Crazy how pivoting to a more mundane world lets them explore more grounded relationship dynamics in the same fun tone (while also having sick fantasy stuff on the side).

Really depends on the IP, though. Some are close to 1:1 the original character style, and some are this shit.

I don't "take The Game Awards seriously," but casually caring doesn't bother me either. The only things that annoy me in TGA this year are: lots of things in related categories aren't indie games, and The Alters was snubbed super hard for Best Narrative and Best Performance.

The Seance of Blake Manor was pretty good.

Stopped working in film as a young adult because "just be really good at your job" wasn't at all how you find work. The game industry has mostly gone well living like this (except for the two cancelled games, where any part of the team excelling had no relevance to the final outcome).

Post you from a different era.

(Horrifying that it's been 14 years since I was in college.)

Portland, what a beautiful city.

No spoilers Silksong review on @backloggd.com with more words about difficulty in games than about the game itself, because Idk that's where my brain is since no one will shut up about it.

The customary Silksong release day charcuterie board.

my power (to do grid-based level design within a specific frame of reference) is absolutely unlimited.

it's a conspiracy. they don't want you to know that it's as simple as two little functions to swap between world and local space. they want you to suffer in confusion and fear, huddling in the dark, lost from the illumination of truth, clawing to learn math that they will just do for you.

For real.

Working from home as a game dev with three monitors and back problems leads to creative solutions and a horror show of untenable cable management. Sorry for anyone who vomits a little.

What if I have *two* PCs literally hovering between both possible locations that change elevation for my physical wellbeing.

Always love that @backloggd.com does these throwback GOTY events. There are some tough choices for best narrative, but had to go for the one that made me feel the most.

Took PTO for a long weekend to deal with stress, 100%'d the Lagoon Layer of Donkey Kong Bananza in 4.5 hours, having a fucking blast. I still wish Nintendo could bring the graphics, especially when Astrobot showed just how amazing a game like this can be with top of the line, but it's still awesome.

Death Stranding 2 is an absolutely gorgeous game.

Horrible week at work, trying to find happiness where I can. Gosh I wish I could work on a game as smooth and fun and deep as Death Stranding. I'd settle for working on one that actually can ship at all. Going on nearly 5 years of work that went nowhere and meant nothing (KotOR and Perfect Dark).

My lower back decided to go "fuck you" today, so I watched John Wick for 7 hours. I'm glad I decided to put the 4th on even though 2nd and 3rd definitely bored me.
