In aviation but incurably curious about renewable energy & clean tech. Blame the Physics degree
Yep it certainly seems like it’s going that way. I do not understand them. I want them to succeed but my word are they making it difficult for themselves.

32kWh (4x 8kWh modules)

I spec’d it cover the average usage in Jan over the 18 peak hours assuming no solar input. On the coldest days like that day the ASHP will eat more. Didn’t want to overdo it and have no hope of payback as per @solarchase.bsky.social‘s advice. (But I probably still have 😂)

@wiilp.bsky.social what’s your average p/kWh? I’m on intelligent and getting 8.5p overall! Just wondering if I can be bothered with agile

I mean, if you have a medical emergency in the next month or so, you have a good change of an ambulance arriving in a reasonable time.

This has just not been the case in most of the UK for several winters now, and will make an enormous difference to a lot of people.

Put it this way: any cloud & you lose probably 75%, so I wouldn’t say that’s no problem, thick cloud and it’s 95%+

Don’t get me wrong, it’s brilliant and I knew it would be like this.

But I think some solar advocates can get a bit ahead of themselves & promise things that aren’t going to happen

11.7kWp - 26 panels.

Friday was absolutely vile. Very thick cloud and didn’t stop pissing it down all day.

Tell me more…

I used to live in Lincoln. A bit before I moved there, around the turn of the millennium there was a proposal to recreate the spires - but they’d have to be fibreglass for cost & weight reasons. Apparently people didn’t want the change, but I think that’d have been quite cool.
