I'm pleased to discover the hashing #finchfriday. I've become a bit obsessed with the goldfinches in my garden. Photo was taken on my phone, through a window so this picture is more a case of quantity, not quality (the most I've seen in my garden at one time was 18).
Picture shows a bird feeder in front of a green hedge. In the front, eating, there are three goldfinches, a fourth is peeking out from the back and there is a fifth perked on the side of the feeder ready to hop in on the action. The goldfinches are quite small birds with distinctive yelloe, black and white tails and red on the tops of their heads.

For some work, I asked Co-pilot to create me an image of AI in publishing. It's all fine; our benign and cute AI overlords just want to work on their books with a nice mug of tea. Probably they will then retire to their rocking chair with a knitted shawl and a roaring fire.

Today's YouGov poll puts @mayorslayer.bsky.social of @greenparty.org.uk in the lead in the West of England mayor election. If you live in this area please vote on 1st May!

A day of leafleting for WECA mayor elections, then flower arranging for church and a bit of gardening. Lots of fresh air and steps. Happy Easter!

Yesterday I went for walk with @greenparty.org.uk WECA mayor candidate @mayorslayer.bsky.social. We were looking at some of the fields due to be filled with houses and putting further strain on local infrastructure. If you're in South Glos, respond to consultation by end of today. And vote on 1 May.
