Known as Shoddy Dave in some corners of the internet, which I've learnt to live with.
I ride bikes and make videos for Velo.outsideonline.com.
Also, I'm a dad to two girls. Can't forget to mention that!
Yes, we know all major manufactures build in asia (for the most part). But this has got to be a first. Harry Hudson has ridden to the Junior men's World Champ victory on a fully asian branded bike. Quick Pro AR:One frame, Cybrei carbon cranks and CRW wheels.

If anybody's passing by Bilbao westward, I highly recommend stopping at the fist service center on the motorway.
The men's toilets have some absolutely first class old school biro graffiti on the back of the loo doors.
Another skill that's been destroyed by the use of mobile phones.

Got chatting to a random bloke last night about bikes. He immediately turned the conversation to TDFF and PFP win.
As a Frenchie you could see it meant a lot to him, he was hyped, already excitedly claiming that it should bring more money to the sport.
And that's before L'Equipe is even out!

I enjoyed filming this one.

It's odd this job at times. Great odd! And on fleeting occasions little things happen that make me realize it. I wonder what kid Dave would make of it. For example I'm staying in a cheap hotel chain tonight, not fancy at all. And as I popped out to the car just now in wandered Mr Green, Eric Zabel.

I'm in Brest for the Tour de France Femme, just driven over from Vannes.

Now, I used to live in the region for a few years, 20ish years ago!! And I don't know if it's me getting older or just the fact that I was young and in race mode back then, but I don't remember the region being this lovely.

The hotel I've booked myself in for for the next few nights here in Vannes for the TDFF seems to be 50% hotel, 50% old folks place. Which I think is a bloody awesome idea.

This is sad news. They'll never make one like him again.
You can definitely put him in the Legend camp without worry of over using the term.

Nice moment for a kid in Remco's shittest moment.

I honestly think the limbo he's put himself in in the past two years with "am I gonna go to a new team" must be a factor to his performance. Just hope he has signed that contract before the TDF, as I'm sure his bargain power has decreased.
❌ A last beautiful gesture despite the suffering. 🤍

It's over for Remco Evenepoel who's retiring from the #TDF2025.

What self respecting fan doesn't stand at the top of a climb without a bloody local paper.

It's yet another sign that society is screwed.
Absolute scenes with the demise of the print press; Julian Alaphilippe stole a cardboard sign from a spectator, ripped it up and stuffed part of it under his jersey. Newspapers were so much better. #tdf25 #tdf2025

Can someone with better Photoshop skills than me add in a typical bar set up in this pic. That Vittel stand needs an old bloke drinking Ricard, a group on Kronenbourg giving "quality" advice, woman minding her own business having a cafe au lait and a basket with a sliced baguette in it.

For everyone who's just noticed the mass booing on the start line for Pog, please don't think all the French are like that. Here's yesterday's finish from the town hall at the base of the Col du Borderes.

Kids had their first Tour Caravan experience today. I thought they did well, but the guys in the tent next to us on the campsite look like they've done an Oceans 11 job on the caravan. Never seen so much TDF loot.

The more I look at the Ineos-TotalEnergies kit the more I get upset. It's an absolute mess.
The TE logo on the arse of the shorts firmly pitches it into competition for one of the worst kits not just in recent memory, but in many many years.

The british press better do this when the Tour of Britain is held. But for chips n gravy/curry sauce or mushy peas.

Revelation of the race so far is Oscar Onley.
He's a sound fella too, spoke to him last year in Girona. Where he also offered up a pain au chocolat when I spotted him rolling back from training via a bakery.

As a reference to how steep today's finish is, I can happily say that I clocked my fastest ever speed descending it in a race. 107kmph. The Mûr-de-Bretagne ain't no lump on the TDF route. I used to live close to it and remember it only as a beast of a climb.

Warner Bros are seriously crow barring in ads wherever they can on TNT. But I'm not complaining about this one.
Getting the Superman logo in on cycling coverage (released this week by WB in your local picture house) is an impressive move. And I dig it, we need more comic book/cycling crossovers.

Just working on a Tour tech video, yes, honestly a tech video, even if Hansen wants to talk about arses.

Stay tuned for buttock banter.

I know I work for these guys, but this is a great podcast. Pete the expert dropping a ton of knowlege that Mike Levy (the relatve TDF newbie) doesn't know.
We had lots to pick over in this pod. One topic was how the st3 sprint became chaotic due to the race being on wide, straight roads, the headwind and the sheer number of teams that have a competitive sprinter. Also Merlier’s canny move that maybe won him the stage

Pretty damn grim here at the start. We've managed to get out 20 mins before the official start, and teams were still turning up. Le Tour stage two is gonna be a messy one.
