Curious to see how @opencup.ussoccer.com and #USL respond to today's news. I can't imagine the Open Cup schedule remaining the same. Or does #MLS use this as a means to leave Open Cup for good?

As part of the shift, the 2027–28 MLS regular season will kick off in mid-to-late July 2027 and conclude with the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs in May 2028.

LA also have a 5th game—a midweek Campeones Cup vs Toluca on 10/01—which will be the only thing left for them to play for this year. Will the rotation and fatigue from 3 games in a week factor into the Spoon race? If #AllForCity lose out, LA will have to get 2 wins and 2 draws to best us.
With last nights win, #AllForCITY is now seven points clear of the wooden spoon. Not fully in the clear as Galaxy do have a game in hand; but getting closer to being safe.
