S4E6, Nomad Droids: Yawn. Again. I’m sure no one wanted to see Adi Gallia and the 91st fight off grievous. No we wanted another R2 and 3PO episode. Not sure at all why this episode and the previous one weren’t combined into one but ugh. These ‘kiddie’ episodes get more forced as the show goes on.

^oops put season 5
S4E5, Mercy Mission: Yawn. At least I had the Wolf Pack to keep me invested. I actually didn’t mind the first bit where they’re all on the titular mercy mission but the Alice in wonderland shit was so blah. Not looking forward to the next one.

S5E4, Shadow Warrior: Risha Loo is a hilarious name for a one off evil vizier character. Pretty goofy episode, nothing to write home about but could be a LOT worse considering how Gungan focused it is. I liked the Grievous VS Gungan fight here, pretty fun matchup.

S4E3, Prisoners: Another whatever episode so I wanna give a shout-out to my new favorite underrated Star Wars villain, Riff Tamson. Physically imposing, competent, scummy, poses a real threat to the heroes, and to top it off they gave him the most unbelievably gory death in the series. My king.

S4E2, Gungan Attack: I think the bland titles really go to show that there is very little going on in this arc lol. Still very little to say about this episodes other than that the water effects on everything look really good. Plot is pretty bog standard Wlone Wars and not in an interesting way.

S4E1, Water War: Always thought this arc was a little dull, though spending a few episodes fully underwater is neat. I like the Aqua Clones and Droids, I like seeing Kit Fisto and Akbar too, and Riff Tamson makes for a neat villain. There’s just nothing super interesting to hold it all together.

S3E22, Wookie Hunt: Seeing Chewie here is a glup shitto moment for sure but it’s fun anyways. I also wanna make note of how miraculously good this show looks. The textures, lighting, effects, the weight and speed of the animation, all of it incredible. There’s really nothing like it.

S3E21, Padawan Lost: Those Trandoshan hunters are pretty hardcore, going into an active warzone to find prey. Seriously though, I can’t believe no one talks about how we get a 2 episode Predator arc starring Ashoka and (later) Chewbacca. It’s SO GOOD.

S3E20, Citadel Rescue: Action all the way down, which I think is exactly what it needed to be. RIP Master Piell fr. Not a lot to say about this one other than that it’s a good conclusion to a great arc.

S3E19, Counterattack: We back! And yeah this one is great too. Echo’s “death” hit me like a truck when I was young man this shit is meaningful to me. Tarkin is slimy and great. Doesn’t suffer from being the “mid-arc episode” as much as some others do. Also the Lakers droid lmao.

S3E18, The Citadel: Good ol classic action episode. I think I’m the only person who knows that they borrowed the whole carbonite life scanning plot from one of the comic books released around this time. Anyways I fucking love this arc, I rewatch it all the time.

S3E17, Ghosts of Mortis: Maybe hot take but I think the idea of “Anakin sees his future” gets wasted here. His arc of briefly becoming Vader doesn’t make sense, he’d be horrified by his future actions, then he immediately gets mind wiped (which tbf he kinda has to for the show to work). Good arc tho

S3E16, Altar of Mortis: I really like the Son as a villain. This all kinda Ur-Sith that absolutely cannot control his emotions at all, pure dark side passion and rage while remaining somewhat calculated. Doesn’t hurt he’s played by Sam Witwer. Dark Ashoka also fucking rocks. Dope episode.

S3E15, Overlords: Wild to see this show go full gods and monsters for an arc. Really putting the Fantasy in Science Fantasy with these episodes. While far from the best arc in the show it certainly stands out as one of the most unique and memorable. Decent starting episode, excited for the rest.

S3E14, Witches of the Mist: RIP to the hero, King GOATunko. This whole arc was nuts but ending it off by directly stating that Darth Maul is alive is fucking electric, mind blowing stuff from Filoni. God this show rocks.

S3E13, Monster: Sick ass origin story for Savage Opress. I’m really glad they decided to let these Sith-focused episodes be as dark and violent as they are, they just wouldn’t feel right otherwise. Also Savage’s theme is a classic and I’m always hyped when I get to hear it in a fight scene.

S3E12, Nightsisters: And with the beginning of this arc, the fate of Star Wars is changed forever, just as it was last season on Mandalore. Really awesome episode for showing how dangerous and capable Dooku is.
January 10, 2025 at 1:24 AM
S3E11, Pursuit of Peace: Very whatever. Big step down from last episode. I can’t imagine I watched this episode more than once when I was younger bc I barely remember any of it. I’m glad to basically be done with the politics stuff for quite a few more arcs now.
January 10, 2025 at 1:04 AM
S3E10, Heroes on Both Sides: Crazy that this episode manages to actually make some sense out of the George Lucas Prequel Politics™️ while also being partially about a real actual false flag terror attack that includes a massacre of unarmed civilian engineers. Love it, best politics episode yet.
