Yeah Dune Prophecy isn’t good. Pretty hard to make any kind of supplemental material for a series this good but even still this shoots way below the mark. Not once did I ever feel like this was part of some galaxy spanning political conflict. Pretty weak, not thrilled about the idea of a season 2.

I really hope Dune Prophecy comes up with a better explanation for the Voice than “it’s something Valya randomly can do and teach others” because the idea of it being no more than a random superpower instead of a carefully honed Bene Gesserit technique makes me groan

If the Empire did one thing right it was sterilizing Geonosis. Disgusting scary ass planet full of bug zombies and brain parasites. The galaxy is better off without it.

Thoughts on Dune: Prophecy Ep 1:
- Opening was weak. A lot of exposition that could have easily been shown instead of told imo.
- I don’t really mind the “robot wars” interpretation of the Butlerian Jihad but I don’t love it being shown so explicitly
- the Voice sounded really bad

I don’t like being negative but the new dune show has me skeptical. Granted I’m only a few minutes in but it’s got me worried. 50/50 chance this ends up as the new game of thrones or complete poopoo people completely ignore next to Denis’ achievements.
