Our courts are not staging grounds for federal immigration enforcement.

These actions make it more difficult, and in some cases impossible, to get victims and witnesses to come to court to testify.

The judge said the Trump administration has failed to comply with “dozens” of court orders restricting immigrants from being detained.

The two federal agents involved in the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Alex Pretti are on administrative leave, a Customs and Border Protection spokesperson said.

Alex Pretti's interaction with federal agents on a Minneapolis street was caught on camera by several bystanders. That video does not support some of the claims made by Trump administration officials about the fatal shooting.

A federal judge has taken an "extraordinary step" and ordered the head of ICE to appear in court later this week.

At issue is alleged violations of court orders related to immigration cases, including not releasing detainees despite a judge's ruling.

Micayla Pretti, the younger sister of Alex Pretti, the Minneapolis man fatally shot by federal agents over the weekend, released a statement on Monday evening.
