I got my flu shot yesterday and the latest COVID vaccine last month. Flu and COVID have been low but we’re headed into the winter surge. If you haven’t got your vaccines yet, now is a good time to protect yourself & those around you through the winter.

What kind of monsters withhold food assistance, appeal to the Supreme Court for their right to withhold it, then demand states take it back? Hell yes, I’m angry. Taking food away from hungry children is a red line for me, and should be for everyone.

In America, we don't have kings, we have a Constitution, and everyone, even our President, must follow it. Only a large peaceful mobilization can stop the slide to authoritarianism. We need millions of people in the streets! I'll be at Catonsville No Kings. Find an event near you: www.nokings.org

Remembering the tragic events of 9/11. Today, 24 years later, I honor those who lost their lives and their loved ones, the survivors, and all still affected, physically and mentally, including the first responders who put their own lives and health at risk in service of others.
You are not forgotten

Everything about our healthcare system is broken. If we had universal, single-payer healthcare, then by definition all doctors would be in-network. And no, I don’t mean privatizing doctors; just that the government would be the insurer. #healthcareforall www.thebanner.com/economy/john...

Happy Pollinator Week! Pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds are essential to the ecosystem, and needed to grow most of the food we eat. Thank you to @mdsha.bsky.social for your work on this issue. See what they've achieved so far at this link: www.roads.maryland.gov/mdotsha/page...

Juneteenth is a day of celebration, but also a day to recognize that the work of eliminating racial disparities is not yet done. This year is especially difficult as forces including our own federal government are working to dismantle progress. Today and always I commit to working for true equity.

I joined 87 of my colleagues in a letter to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to urge them to correct policy failures by PJM, the regional grid operator, which would lead to increased rates and unnecessary payments to electric companies. Read it here: www.canva.com/design/DAGoA...

Last night on the eve of Sine Die I was struck by the dramatic sky behind Justice Thurgood Marshall and the State House dome, both reminders of why we’re here and the important work we do here. Happy Sine Die, everyone. #working4maryland
